Why Should You Choose Four Paws Dog Training?
All the training at Four Paws is reward based training, no harsh methods at any time are used, and if your dog takes that little longer to pick up commands, then so be it. All dogs are different and at Four Paws we recognise this, so we take things slowly.
We also have small classes, as this enables the trainer to give you a more personal level of training. Early booking is essential.
Puppy Foundation & Socialisation Course.
This course is for dogs from the age of 12 to 20 weeks old. We get your puppy onto their training path before bad habits set in. Also valuable life skills to help them through their puppy hood, adolescence to adult hood.
As well as the basic training we also help you to help your puppy cope with new places, new sights, sounds, and smells, all introduced gradually, at a pace that your puppy can cope with.
We show you how to socialise your puppy correctly.
We help your puppy to be calm around new people, new dogs, and other animals, being careful not to overwhelm or overstimulate your puppy in the process.
We show you strategies to ensure that your puppy makes the right choices about where to toilet, what to chew, and when to rest.
We show you how to train your puppy at home and how long the training sessions should be.
We also show you short training games which are fun for the puppy and the family, laying foundations for more advanced training as your puppy develops, and building a great bond between you and your puppy. All the training in class is for you to have a well behaved puppy and for your puppy to know all commands to keep him/her safe.
No fancy gimmicks, just common sense training.
Training should be about fun, and we show you how to do that, so you and your puppy will have a long and lasting future to-gether.
6 Week course £70.
This course is for dogs from the age of 5-12 months old, that have had NO previous training. Maybe you didn’t manage to book onto a Puppy course and now you are finding that your dog needs some basic training.
On this course we start you off on your training path, helping you to get your dogs attention, and to keep it!, to learn the basic commands of Sit, Stay, Leave, Drop. Walking nicely on the lead. All the commands that you learn on this course will be relevant to your daily life.
If you wish to further your dogs training after you complete the Beginner course then you can enrol onto the Junior Course. Here we further the training commands that you have learnt, and then move them onto the next level. We run small classes for this course, so you can have individual attention, and also have other dogs around you for socialisation.
Please note the beginner course is for dogs with good temperaments and happy to train with other dogs near them. If your dogs barks at other dogs, then a class situation may make your dog stressed, and your dog may be more suited to a 1-2-1 Home Training session, where they can be trained in more familiar surroundings. Call for more information.
5 Week course £60.

As the course progresses we use games, so training is still fun for your dog. This is a very important age for your dog as they are entering adolescence, and need us to guide them through it. This time in a dogs life can be as much challenging for the owner as it is for the dog, so we show you strategies and how to cope with it. We are always here for help and advice.
